Cav Cord/Community Service opportunities now available:  (updated 12/30/20)

 

St. Margaret’s Gift Shop – Volunteers needed

  • Work as little as one, 4-hour shift per week
  • Great for retirees and students needing service hours
  • Flexible 4 hour shifts: 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. and/or 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday (Saturdays are also available during peak holiday season)
  • 20% off discount in the Gift Shop
  • Free lunch or dinner from the cafeteria during work shift
  • Annual volunteer recognition dinner
  • Friendly environment

Illinois Valley PADS:  Call Stacy (store manager) to schedule a time at 224-7970.  Work will involve pricing, cleaning, sorting, etc.  To serve meals, you must be accompanied by a parent/guardian.

 

Grace United Methodist Church, 1345 Chartres Street, LaSalle,  223-1001.

Students can call or text Gina at Grace United at 815-223-1001 if interested.  They have the following opportunities open:

Assist with tech on Sunday mornings (8:30 - 11:30 a.m.)

Assist in cleaning the office, lobby and sanctuary

 

Send letters/cards to nursing homes or Veteran's home.

 

Assist local elderly and people in need such as raking leaves, shovel their driveway, housework, etc.

 

Donate clothes to local non-profit organizations such as Goodwill, Salvation Army, or shelter.

 

Pick up non-perishable food items to donate to the Illinois Valley Food Pantry, 122 Wright Street, LaSalle.  Call first- 815-224-3658.
