LP Board Update -- March 17, 2021

During its Regular Board Meeting held on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 the Board of Education accomplished the following items.

  1. Approved the minutes of the February 17, 2021 Regular Meeting and the March 4, 2021 and March 11, 2021 Special Meetings.
  2. Student Ambassadors Natalia Rios and Hailey Bryan presented to the Board.
  3. Alaina Stasiak, an LP art student, was recognized for winning the Annual IVCC Area High School Exhibition and Portfolio Competition.
  4. Zac Koesler and a group of his students presented to the board on their computer repair and game coding projects.
  5. Approved monthly LP and ACC bill and financial statements.
  6. Wrobleski presented the Buildings & Grounds Committee Report.
  7. Sparks presented the President’s Report, commenting on Dr. Wrobleski’s very positive annual evaluation and his upcoming retirement contract.
  8. Wrobleski presented the Superintendent’s Report, sharing information on the latest version of the LP Schedule 3.0 v2 plan, preparing for staffing recommendations for the next year, and commending the LP Crisis Team for their efforts during the past week.
  9. Cushing presented the Principal’s Report, sharing information on the High Scholarship Legion program, preparing for the Honor Society program, upcoming statewide testing activities, planning for the next school year’s schedule, and looking ahead to next year’s budget and plans for summer school.
  10. Le presented the Athletic Director’s Report, sharing information on the end of the winter sports season, adapting to the latest IHSA/IDPH guidelines for the new spring season, Homecoming week plans, and highlighting the success of the Scholastic Bowl team.
  11. Mentgen presented the Director of the ACC Report, sharing information on planning for the next year’s course offerings, the ACC Students of the Month, and preparing for next year’s staffing needs.
  12. Baker presented the Director of Communication Report, sharing information on plans for upcoming virtual celebrations and the upcoming LP Foundation Family Dinner fundraiser at Right Spice on Monday, March 22.
  13. Approved to award the HLS #79 Quad Locker Room Renovation – Main Academic Building Project contract to Vissering Construction for Base Bid $485,270 and Alternate Bid A1 $2,275 (Total - $487,545)
  14. Approved awarding the HLS #9 Dolan Building Renovation Project contract to Vissering Construction for Base Bid A $675,000 (Total - $675,000)
  15. Approved awarding the HLS #7 Pope Auto Shop Renovation Project contract to McConnaughhay & Sons Roofing for Base Bid B $174,200 and Vissering Construction for Alternate Bid A1 for $7,200 (Total - $181,400)
  16. Approved submitting HLS Amendment #18, East Gym/Industrial Education Building for $27,531.60 to replace the wheelchair platform lift leading to the Pool
  17. Approved the 2021-2024 Transportation Contract with Johannes Bus Service, Inc.
  18. Approved Hillmann Pediatric Therapy, P.C. Contract for the 2021-2022 school year
  19. Approved purchasing wrestling mats from Dollamur Sport Surfaces, $25,950.00
  20. Approved the LPHS Schedule 3.0 v2
  21. Approved the 2020-2021 Intergovernmental Agreement with the City of LaSalle on the usage of the Rotary Park Baseball Field
  22. Approved the 2020-2021 Intergovernmental Agreement with the City of Oglesby on the usage of the Gandolfi Baseball Field

  32. Approved the maternity leave request from Mrs. Robbyn Partain (ACC Fire Science Teacher) from August 9, 2021 to October 8, 2021
  33. Reviewed and retained the Executive/Closed Session minutes of the February 17, 2021 Regular Meeting and the March 4, 2021 and March 11, 2021 Special Meetings.
  34. Approved the recommended destruction of verbatim audio records from Executive Sessions held prior to October 1, 2019 (September 4, 2019 Special Meeting and September 25, 2019 Regular Meeting).
  35. Approved the semi-annual review of Executive Session Minutes (July 15, 2020, August 19, 2020, September 8, 2020, September 23, 2020, October 21, 2020, November 18, 2020, and December 16, 2020).
