LP Board Update -- September 2018

During its Regular Board Meeting held on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 the Board of Education accomplished the following items.

  1. Held a Public Hearing on the LPHS and ACC FY ‘19 Budgets.
  2. Approved the minutes of the August 15, 2018 Regular Meeting.
  3. Recognized administrative assistant Bobbi Newell for her exceptional efforts to prepare the school information management system and the District’s locker system in preparation for the current school year despite the distractions of the ongoing Renovation.
  4. Received TIF Reimbursements from City of Oglesby – TIF I ($70,474.88); City of LaSalle – TIF I ($64,362.56); City of LaSalle – TIF II ($102,279.28); Village of North Utica – TIF I ($17,963.61); Village of North Utica – TIF II ($5,837.07); and Village of North Utica – TIF IV ($13,669.13).
  5. Wrobleski presented the Superintendent’s Report, sharing information on the LPHS and ACC FY ’19 budgets and the upcoming IASB Starved Rock Region dinner.
  6. Wrobleski presented the Principal’s Report, sharing notes on the start of the year staff development activities, preparing for the fall Renaissance Rally, the Link Crew orientation program, and the administrative team’s recent training on teacher evaluations.
  7. Wrobleski presented the Athletic & Activities Director’s report, sharing information on the progress and accomplishments of the fall sports programs and Homecoming Week activities.
  8. Mentgen presented the ACC/SRAVTE Director’s report, sharing information on the recent ACC Auto Show and plans to publicize successful ACC graduates.
  9. Baker presented the Director of Communication & Fundraising report, sharing information on the upcoming Renovation Open House, the plans for the Hall of Honor recognition, and the LP Foundation’s Harlem Wizards fundraiser.
  10. Adopted the LPHS budget FY 2019

  4. Approved the LPHS School Profile 2018-2019
  5. Approved the School District Library Grant Application
  6. Approved the Agreement for Services from Advantage Nursing Services, Inc.
  7. Approved the Salary Compensation Report
  8. Approved the Area Career Center Joint Agreement Resolution FY ‘2019
  9. Approved the following appointments:
    • Mr. Kevin Champlin, Technology Club Sponsor, for the 2018-2019 school year (replaces Mr. Shawn Schwingle)
    • Ms. Suzanne Ryan, Assistant Head Cook, effective the 2018-2019 school year (replaces Mrs. Patricia Vaini)
    • Mrs. Jennifer Heagy, Volunteer Swim Coach, for the 2018-2019 school year
  1. Approved the Crunchin’ Cavs Youth Wrestling Program to use LP’s facilities to host their annual wrestling tournament on Sunday, January 27, 2019
  2. Approved the Starved Rock Area Special Olympics to use LPHS facilities (Main Building and Howard Fellows Stadium) for the annual District Bocce Competition on Saturday, April 27, 2019 with the setup beginning on Friday, April 26, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. through 2:00 p.m.
  3. Reviewed and retained the Executive/Closed Session minutes of the Aug. 15, 2018 Regular Meeting.
  4. Approved the resignation of Ms. Rachael Sell, main lunch line server, effective Aug. 27, 2018.
  5. Approved the reassignment of Ms. Beth Hamilton from taco/pizza line (2) to main lunch line server, effective 2018-2019 school year (replaces Ms. Racheal Sell).
  6. Approved the Superintendent’s goals for 2018-2019.
  7. Approved an intergovernmental agreement with the city of Oglesby regarding Oglesby TIF District VI.
