L-P Board Update -- May 3, 2023

During its Reorganization/Special Board Meeting held on Wednesday, May 3, 2023 the Board of Education accomplished the following items.

  1. An opportunity for public comment was offered.
  2. Adopted a resolution certifying the results of the April 4, 2023 Election.
  3. Conducted the Oath of Office for newly elected Board of Education Members.
  4. Reorganized the School Board:
      1. Appointed Dr. Wrobleski as the President Pro Tem
      2. Appointed Mrs. Riva as the Secretary Pro Tem
      3. Mr. Sarver was nominated and elected as President
      4. Mrs. Hocking-Taliani and Mrs. Alcorn were nominated as Vice-President with Mrs. Hocking-Taliani being elected by ballot.
      5. Appointed Mrs. Jennifer Riva, Board of Education Secretary
      6. Appointed Mr. Peter Corgiat, Board of Education Treasurer
      7. Appointed the Zukowski Law Office, District Legal Counsel
      8. Appointed Mrs. Lori Whalen, IMRF Authorized Agent
      9. Appointed Mrs. Diana Bergagna, Activity Fund Treasurer
      10. Appointed the following District Depositories:
        1. Hometown National Bank
        2. LaSalle State Bank
        3. Eureka Savings Bank
        4. Illini State Bank
        5. Peru Federal Savings Bank
        6. Heartland Bank and Trust Company
      11. Approved of the LaSalle News-Tribune as the Designated Newspaper for Official Publications
      12. Approved of the 2023-2024 Regular Board of Education Meeting Dates, Times, and Locations
      13. Approved Re-adopting the Board of Education Policy Manual
  5. Adopted a proclamation recognizing retiring Board President, Mr. Tony Sparks, and presentation of gifts
  6. Tabled submitting Building Permit Application to the ROE for the Tennis Court Rebuild Project
  7. Approved the following appointments:
      1. Mrs. Michele Doerr, Science Teacher, effective for the 2023-2024 school year (replacing Mr. Ed Yoder)
