Adaptive Pause Notification -- January 7, 2022

Good afternoon all –

The purpose of this email is to officially notify our parents that we are taking an adaptive pause next week and will go into remote learning. Based upon the continued number of positive test results and impacts on our ability to staff the building and through consultation with the LaSalle County Department of Public Health, we believe this is the most prudent course of action for next week.

We will use the 1:46 pm Early Out schedule all next week (See schedule below). Students will log into their Google Classroom for each period. In-person learning will resume on Tuesday, January 18, 2022.

IF ANY STUDENTS NEED TO GATHER MATERIALS FROM YOUR LOCKER, THE BUILDING WILL BE AVAILABLE TODAY THROUGH 3:00 PM. IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO GATHER ANY LOCKER MATERIALS TODAY OR HAVE MATERIALS IN THE CLASSROOM, PLEASE COME TO THE GREETER'S DESK ON MONDAY. IF YOU NEED MATERIALS FROM A CLASSROOM, PLEASE MAKE ARRANGEMENTS WITH YOUR TEACHER.

We are also going to pause extracurricular practices and competitions, except for final conference competitions and any state level series. Mr. Le will follow-up with all the coaches and sponsors with that schedule – which will go in effect today through Sunday, January 16, 2022. Practices and competitions will resume the week of Monday, January 17, 2022.

We will also offer the L-P Meal Train every day next week between 11:00 am and 1:00 pm. A survey will be going out to get an idea on the number of participants. There is no cost for any student for the Meal Train.

Please know that this was the last mitigation we wanted to implement, but believe this will help us get our staff back in the building sooner and minimize the spread. We received notification today that IDPH and ISBE will be adopting the new CDC guidelines. This will certainly help maintain operations with a reduced quarantine period. I will notify our families when those guidelines become official.
