Return to Campus Plan (March 9, 2021)
Dear L-P Families,
I am writing with the next steps returning L-P back to our in-person hybrid learning schedule and resumption of extracurriculars. We appreciate the challenges and frustrations with the decision to temporarily return to remote learning. It is our preference and desire to maintain in-person learning. With the determination by the Health Department that a COVID outbreak had occurred at L-P, we believe our decision to take a slight pause with in-person learning and extracurriculars was the safest course of action. While some may feel that this was an over-reaction or not necessary, our primary duty is to consider the safety needs of over 170 staff members and 1,200 students.
Here is our planned timeline:
Tuesday, March 9, 2021 – The entire district was remote – all buildings were unoccupied today. All students were on remote learning.
Wednesday, March 10, 2021 – All L-P buildings will be super cleaned by our custodial/maintenance staff. All students remain on remote learning.
Thursday, March 11, 2021 – All staff report back to work in the buildings. Students will remain remote with teachers teaching in their classrooms. The L-P Meal Train will resume.
Friday, March 12, 2021 – All staff report to work in the buildings. Students will remain remote with teachers teaching in their classrooms.
Monday, March 15, 2021 – Target date to restart in-person hybrid learning with the red/green schedule. This includes the resumption of all extracurriculars. An announcement will be made this Friday confirming the restart on Monday.
