It is the goal of the District to return to hybrid in-person learning. Central to doing so is maintaining the health and safety of all students and staff. The CDC Metrics on Indicators and Thresholds for Risk of Introduction and Transmission of COVID in Schools is a primary tool guiding our decision on when to bring students back into the building for classes. This tool tracks three core indicators: 1) Number of new cases per 100,000 persons within the last 14-days; 2) Percentage of COVID-19 tests that are positive during the last 14-days; and 3) Ability of the school to implement five key mitigation strategies.

When we have an overall rating of moderate level of risk or better in the core indicators, the District will resume hybrid in-person learning. While all three indicators are important, students will return to hybrid in-person learning when the composite percentage (14-day rolling average) of positive cases of zip codes within the district’s boundaries remains under 8% for two consecutive Friday’s. The tracking period begins Friday, October 30, 2020.
