Cap and gowns are in!!! Attention Seniors, Jostens will be here during all lunches tomorrow, March 10th to distribute cap and gowns. They will be located in front of the auditorium doors during all lunch periods. Please stop by and pick up your package during your lunch. If you have been notified that you have a balance due, you will need to pay that balance on line at www.jostens.com before March 10th or bring cash with you on the 10th. No checks will be accepted on distribution day. If you have NOT ordered your cap and gown, you must do so immediately at www.jostens.com.

 

All students bringing a non L-P guest to Prom must have a completed “Guest Request Form” on file in the dean’s office by Monday, March 23rd.   Forms can be picked up at the Greeters Desk.

 

Freshmen/Sophomore Board will meet Wednesday at 7:30 in Room 136.

 

Key Club will be meeting at 7:15 am on Tuesday morning in the Cavalier Community Room. We will be completing our last round of elections for the positions of Treasurer and Editor. 

 

Debate club will meet on Monday after school in room 114 at 2:45. We hope to see you there!

 

Group Interpretation will meet on Wednesday in room 114 at 7:15 a.m. We hope you join us!

 

The next art club meeting will be on Thursday, March 12 from 2:45-3:45 in room 224. 

 

Drama Club will be meeting today after school in Room 327 until 4:00.

 

Attention sophomores and juniors: are you a leader interested in attending the all-expenses paid rotary youth leadership awards conference in May? Applications are located in the counseling office and are due Tuesday, March 10.

 

Attention Sophomores and Juniors! If you have interest in becoming a Link Leader for the 2020-2021 school year, please pick up an application in the library, in room 122, or in room 338.  Any LP sophomore or junior in good standing at LP is welcome to apply.  Applications are due back to Mr. Clydesdale or Mrs. Hartman by March 20.

 

If you like the Japanese culture, the Japanese language itself or anime, then the Japanese and Anime Cultural Club is for you! The JACC meets every other Saturday from 3:30 to 6 PM in the Dolan Building. This Saturday is going to be one of the funnest meetings we've had yet and we are so excited to have new people join! We hope to see you this Saturday!

 

Summer School driver ed applications are available in the Counseling office. The deadline to turn in the application and money is this Friday, March 13th.

 

There will be an intramural 3 on 3 basketball tournament on Thursday, March 19th at 6:30 in the Sellett Gym. Sign your team of up to 4 people up outside the PE office. Any questions, see Coach Keating.

 

Any senior who has completed at least 6 semesters in social science is eligible for the Bertusi Award and may pick up an application for the award from Mr. Woods in room 124 or download from Mr. Woods AP US History webpage on Office 365. The deadline to return the application is March 13th.  The test will be taken on Tuesday March 31th at 2:45 in room 124.

 

Attention Seniors: if you received A’s both semesters in US History or Honors US History you are eligible to take a comprehensive examination in American History to determine a winner for the Knights of Columbus Award. The test will be given in Room 124 at 2:45 p.m. on Monday, March 30th. Check your school email for more information.

 

A scholarship for graduates of Dimmick grade school is now available to eligible seniors. Please visit the counseling office for more information.

Attention seniors: The Reverend L.L. Henkel Scholarship is available for students who have been accepted at an accredited college or university and have a minimum composite score of 21 on the ACT or a minimum composite score of 1080 on the SAT. Applications are available online at www.roe35.org. Completed application packets must be filed with the LaSalle County Regional Superintendent of Schools by April 30.

 

Attention seniors: The LP Class of 1953 Earl Trobaugh Memorial Scholarship has opened up and will be extended until this Wednesday, March 11. This is for seniors who will be attending IVCC, has a GPA of 3.5 or less, and pursuing a degree in education. This is a one-year scholarship in the amount of $1500 to be used for tuition and other charges at IVCC.  Stop in the Counseling office for an application.

 

Attention seniors that graduated from Parkside: If you are planning to attend college with a major in education or speech pathology, the Robert Alpert scholarship has been reposted until Wednesday, March 11. Please see the website or stop by the Counseling office.
