With the time of turbulent weather approaching, we will be engaging in a state-wide tornado drill today at 10:00 a.m. Listen closely to the following directions:
Silence during the drill is necessary so that word can be passed or so that the sirens can be heard easily. When the alarm sounds, students are to leave their rooms as directed by their teacher. Everyone should move to the lowest level of each building. Line up against the wall or lockers, sit Indian style and remain absolutely quiet. If a tornado is eminent, students should sit on their knees and place their hands on the back of their heads. We will pass word over the intercom. The signal for a tornado drill is a continuous siren sounded over the intercom. Regardless of where you may be if the alarm sounds and you do not know where to go, move to the lowest level of the building. Stay away from windows and stay there until the all clear is sounded over the intercom. Remember, your life or the lives of your friends could well depend on your absolute silence during the drill. Thank you for your cooperation.
