Freshmen/Sophomore Boards will meet Wednesday morning at 7:30 in Room 136. Bring your candy money. If you have suckers you cannot sell, please bring them with you.
Attention Seniors. LP Honor Society applications are available at the Greeter’s desk and must be returned to the Principal’s Office by tomorrow, Tuesday, February 25th.
A list of students who are eligible to apply based on GPA is posted outside the Counseling Office along with a complete list of sports, clubs, and organizations. Please see your counselor with any questions.
Anyone who is interested in going out for boys’ tennis this spring, please meet in Mr. Guenther’s room, room 146, at 7:30 on Tuesday, February 25th.
Junior Board will have a meeting Wednesday, February 26 at 7:30 am in Mrs. Hartman’s room.
Are you a sophomore or junior with leadership skills? If so, the annual, all-expenses paid Rotary Youth Leadership Awards weekend will take place May 3-6. Interested students should pick up an application in the counseling office and return it by March 6.
Any senior who has completed at least 6 semesters in social science is eligible for the Bertusi Award and may pick up an application for the award from Mr. Woods in room 124 or download from Mr. Woods AP US History webpage on Office 365. The deadline to return the application is March 13th. The test will be taken on Tuesday March 31th at 2:45 in room 124.
Drama Club will be meeting today from 2:45-4:00 in Room 327.
Hey Cavs! The Yearbook Staff will be having mandatory meetings every day this week after school in room 156 to prep for Sadie on Saturday, February 29th. All welcome to help with prep, and we hope to see you there!
The second round of voting for Sadie's Daisy Mae and Lil' Abner will be in your emails by 5th period today and will end Friday, February 28th at 11:20am. In this round, you will vote on your final choice for Daisy Mae and Lil' Abner. You can find the Google Form in your student email!
Attention Students: This is the last week to purchase your yearbook. Final yearbook counts are due to Jostens on Friday! We only have 40 copies left to sell, so order yours ASAP. Please see Ms. West or Hope Beelman in room 156 for more information.
Applications for summer driver ed are now available in the Counseling office. The deadline to turn the application in is March 15.

The spring sports Athletic Code and parent meeting is Wednesday evening at 6:00 in Matthiessen Auditorium. Students participating in a spring sport who have not attended an Athletic Code meeting this year should attend with a parent. Students who have already attended an Athletic code meeting should see their spring sports coach about the time and location of their parent meeting.
Attention any girls interested in track & field: See Coach Beatty in room 304. Two sport athletes are welcome. What do you have to lose?
Attention Writing Club: Our regular monthly meeting will be after school on Thursday, February 27 in room 147. Our guest speaker will be Madison Wrobleski, who will highlight an award-winning poem.
Are you interested in robotics? Have you ever wanted to work with a team to plan and build something amazing? Come join Tech Club this Thursday after school in room 002 in the East Gym to learn more about helping our club compete in a Rube Goldberg building competition!
Video game club will be meeting this today in room 002 in the east gym building. We will be playing Super Smash Bros, Mario Kart, rocket league, brawlhalla, madden 18, Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games, and other great games. Come join the video game club at 3 o’ clock in room 002 in the east gym building.
Attention LP students, staff, and faculty: Creativity is something everyone has, so come and share some of yours in the LP Writing Club’s Poetry Slam/Open Mic Night on March 30th from 6-8 p.m.! Students can register what they will be expressively reading, which can include original or well-known poems, prose, speeches, lyrics, or raps, with Mrs. Phillips or Ms. Ewald by March 25. Please include your name, title, genre, and full text. We even have some LP alumni and teachers coming to perform both original and published works to the audience. Ask any Writing Club member, your English teacher, Mrs. Phillips, or Ms. Ewald for more information.
Attention Sophomores and Juniors! If you have interest in becoming a Link Leader for the 2020-2021 school year, please pick up an application in the library, in room 122, or in room 338. Any LP sophomore or junior in good standing at LP is welcome to apply. Applications are due back to Mr. Clydesdale or Mrs. Hartman by March 20.

Debate club will meet Monday afternoon at 2:45 p.m., in room 114 to partake in some fun debate topics. We hope to see you there!
Attention Seniors: if you received A’s both semesters in US History or Honors US History you are eligible to take a comprehensive examination in American History to determine a winner for the Knights of Columbus Award. The test will be given in Room 124 at 2:45 p.m. on Monday, March 30th. Check your school email for more information.
LEAD will be having Miracle Minute again this year on Friday, March 6th during 1rst hr. The class that can raise the most money in one minute will win a Pizza Party! Start spreading the word.
LEAD will be putting different events each day during Respect Week March 3-6th. March 4th banner signing in the cafeteria during lunches, March 5th Movie after school in CCR, March 6th Miracle Minute and Door Decorating contest. See a LEAD member for more details.
The high scholarship legion program is scheduled for 7:00 p.m., this Thursday, February 27th. A rehearsal will be held during sixth hour on Wednesday February 26th. Students should check the seating chart posted in the showcase window by the auditorium to find their assigned seats. Students are to report to the auditorium promptly at the beginning of 6th hour for the rehearsal and sit in their assigned seats. Please attend even if you will not be present for the program since pictures will be taken at this time. Also, it is very important that you inform Mrs. Franklin in the Principal’s Office if you will not be attending the program on Thursday evening. If you are attending the program, it is extremely important you be in the first floor hallway no later than 6:30 p.m. Thursday evening.
To all students attending the Sadie Hawkins dance on Saturday, February 29th, the following guidelines will be followed:
- Picture ID cards are required in addition to the admission fee. All L-P students must have a current L-P ID. No student or guest will be admitted without a valid picture ID card.
- Students will remain in the dance area and will not be readmitted if they leave.
- The dance will begin at 7:00 p.m. and end at 10:00 p.m. Students must arrive by 8:00 p.m. in order to be admitted to the dance.
- All school rules are in effect during dances.
- In order for a student to attend the dance, he/she must be in attendance on Friday, February 28th, by 10:00 a.m.
- Students on social probation will not be allowed to attend.
- The LP administration has the right not to admit any student who is not in good standing. LP administration has the right and responsibility to exclude any student or guest from attending a dance if it believes that this individual poses a safety risk or is disruptive to the educational environment.
- All students bringing a non L-P guest to the dance must have had a completed “Guest Request Form” on file in the dean’s office by Monday, February 24th.
