Tomorrow will be our Fall Academic Rally. On this day, we will be on the 1:46 schedule with classes dismissing to the auditorium at 1:40 PM. Please sit in your assigned area with your 7th hour class.
Attention Renaissance Card Holders: If you earned a red, bronze, silver, or gold card, we will be handing out T-shirts today during all lunches. Please have your Renaissance card available to be hole-punched. If you earn a T-shirt, we encourage you to wear it tomorrow to celebrate our Fall Academic Rally.
Attention seniors: if you plan to submit a portrait other than your LifeTouch photo, the photo and Photographer Release Form are due by this Friday, October 11. No portraits or release forms will be accepted late. If you have questions, please see Hope Beelman or Ms. West.
Attention freshman and sophomores: Are you interested is getting involved in a club? Do you like fundraising? Come and find out what freshman and sophomore board is all about! We will be having a meeting on Tuesday at 7:30 in room 136. Bring a friend!
There will be a GSA meeting tomorrow after school in room 331... hope to see you there!
Attention all Cavaliers: There is a TOPS meeting on Thursday morning at 7:15 in room 142.
Students with library books that need to be returned or renewed can bring them to the conference room across from the library. Fines will not be issued for days the library is closed.
Drama Club will be meeting today after school in the Alumni Room and after school on Tuesday and Thursday in Room 327. New members are always welcome!
There will be an FBLA meeting for all members on Wednesday, October 9 at 7:20 AM In Room 321.
Hey Cavaliers, don’t forget that this Thursday, October 10th at 7PM, in the auditorium, is the first choir concert of the year! Your peers have been working hard to create good music for you, and would love to have your support!
There will be open gyms 3 to 4 Monday and Thursday at the Sellett gym. Any questions, ask Coach Kennedy or Miller.
Are you a high school student who’s making a difference through volunteering? Apply for a 2019 Prudential Spirit of Community Award, and you could win $1,000 or more, a beautifully engraved medallion, and an all-expense paid trip with a parent or guardian to Washington D.C. in May for four days of special recognition events. Applications must be submitted by November 5th. Fill out an online application. Check out the lphs.net website under LP scholarships.
Key Club will be having a meeting this Tuesday at 7:15 a.m. in the alumni room. We are going to collect pledges for Trick or Treat for Unicef. If you enjoy volunteering, come to our next meeting to experience Key Club!
FCA will meet Wednesday morning at 7:15 a.m. in coach MUNDT’s Room 339.
There will be an intramural whiffle ball tournament on Wednesday, October 9 starting at 7:00 in the Sellett gym. Sign up your team of 7 people outside the PE office. Any questions, see Coach Keating.
The next Art Club Meeting will be on Thursday, October 11 in Room 224 from 2:45-3:45. Anyone is welcome to join Art Club!
Attention Book Club members: Our next meeting will be Thursday, October 10th at 7:15am in Mrs. Meyer's room, 145. Please join Mrs. Sadnick and Mrs. Meyer for a light breakfast and to discuss the book Life As We Knew It. New members are always welcome .
Attention students: Make sure to check the Counseling website under scholarships. There were a few miscellaneous scholarships recently posted.
Attention seniors! Are you still working on those college applications? If so, sign up in the counseling office for our first College 101 session during 4th period on Oct. 9. Students will have direct assistance with starting and completing applications. Please also stop in to let us know where you’ve applied so far to be entered into a drawing for a gift card.
Are you a senior that has been accepted to a college, military branch, apprenticeship, or the workforce post high school? Stop by the counseling office to add your name to our acceptance wall in celebration of your success and for a chance to win a gift card.
Hello seniors! Do you need help filling out a college application or with your FAFSA application? The counselors are hosting a College & FAFSA Application Day on October 25th - all class periods. To sign up, please come to the Counseling Office to reserve which period you would like to be called in. You will get sent a pass, and we will meet in Collaboration Room 327. Help will be available to answer any questions and assist you in completing these applications. Hope to see you then!
IVCC is hosting an ag open house and college fair tomorrow, October 8 in rooms CTC124-125 of the Peter Miller Community Technology Center.
Day and evening sessions are offered:
- Session 1 is 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. (lunch included) and
- Session 2 is 6 to 8 p.m.

Attention students: YSB is partnering with Heritage Harbor to put on a “Pumpkin Flotilla Festival” held on October 19 from 10:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. There are many activities planned for the day including a 5K Fun Run/Jog/Walk at 10:30 around the harbor. Check out the posters located outside the Counseling office for all the different events.
