Student Council will be meeting on Friday at 7:10 AM in Mr. Zukowski’s room 340.


Congratulations to Mr. & Mrs. Krull on their wedding this past Saturday!   Mrs. Krull is the former Miss Alba.


Key Club will be meeting on Tuesday morning at 7:15 in the Cavalier Community Room. New members are welcome!


Tomorrow there is a GSA meeting in room 331 after school... hope to see YOU there!


Attention Writing Club: Our next meeting will be on Tuesday, September 24 at 2:50 in room 147. All student writers are welcome. 


FCA will continue to meet in Mr. Mundt’ Room on Wednesday morning in room 339.


There will be open gyms Tuesday and Wednesday 3 to 4 p.m. at the cardio room. Any questions, ask Coach Kennedy, Miller, or Guenther.


Attention all Cavaliers:  There will be a TOPS meeting in room 142 Thursday morning at 7:15.  New students are welcome.


Looking for a quick bite to eat before attending the Variety Show? Stop by Chipotle between 4 and 8PM to help support the LP Girls Tennis team. Simply mention LP girls tennis when paying, and the team gets 33% of all proceeds. Thank you in advance for your support!


The Variety Show is tonight, September 23 at 7:00 in the Sellett Gym. Please come out and support the talented LP performers.  The homecoming King and Queen will also be announced at the Variety Show.


Attention Gold Card Holders: During homecoming, you and your date will be allowed to use your homecoming fast pass perk to enter the gym through the North side door. Please have your student ID and Gold Card.


Attention Renaissance Members: There will be a meeting after school today in the Cavalier Community Room. We will be working on the Renaissance Rally.


Hey Cavaliers! The Yearbook staff had an amazing turnout for host and talent tryouts and are now looking for students interested in handling trophies. This role would include helping hosts and handing out trophies to all of our superlative winners. The 6 students selected for this role will have a responsibility to attend all rehearsal dates and dress formally the night of the award show. If interested, please see Hope Beelman or Ms. West in room 156 for more information!


Attention all students: The Cavalier Choice Awards is coming soon! Check your student email on Wednesday, September 25th for the first round of superlative voting. Round one of voting ends Wednesday, October 2nd at 3:00pm. Make sure you submit your vote! The Cav Choice Award show, announcing all superlative winners, will be held on Friday, November 8th at 7 PM in the auditorium.  We can't wait to see you there!


The Fall Blood Drive will be October 3rd in the East Gym. Students who are 16 years old and older are welcome to sign-up during all lunch periods throughout the week. Those who are 16 will need to complete a parent permission form. All donors will need to complete a school sponsored absence request form. All forms should be returned to the sign-up table. If you have any questions, check-in with a Key Clubber or contact Miss. Loving. 


There will be an intramural whiffle ball tournament on Wednesday, October 9 starting at 7:00 in the Sellett gym. Sign up your team of 7 people outside the PE office. Any questions, see Coach Keating.


Attention seniors:  if you plan to submit a portrait other than your LifeTouch photo, the photo and Photographer Release Form are due by Friday, October 11. No portraits or release forms will be accepted late. If you have questions, please see Hope Beelman or Ms. West.


Are you a high school student who’s making a difference through volunteering? Apply for a 2019 Prudential Spirit of Community Award, and you could win $1,000 or more, a beautifully engraved medallion, and an all-expense paid trip with a parent or guardian to Washington D.C. in May for four days of special recognition events. Applications must be submitted by November 5th. Fill out an online application. Check out the website under LP scholarships.


On November 30, Utica will be hosting “Christmas in the Village”. If you are interested in volunteering or would like community service hours, please stop by the counseling office for more details. 


There will be a Pumpkin Flotilla Festival held on October 19 at the Heritage Harbor in Ottawa. It is an all day event and includes activities such as 5K Zombie Fun/Run, craft fair, pet costume contest, games, food & drinks, pumpkin carving, bonfire, storyteller, and more. For more information, there are posters located on the bulletin board outside the Counseling office.

Wednesday, October 2 – University of Illinois- Urbana – 6th hour


Interested students can sign up in the Counseling office to meet with any of these representatives.


To all students attending the Homecoming dance on Saturday, September 28, the following guidelines will be followed:

  • Picture ID cards are required in addition to your ticket. All L-P students must have a current L-P ID. No student or guest will be admitted without a valid picture ID card.
  • Students will remain in the dance area until they are ready to leave and will not be readmitted if they leave.
  • The dance will begin at 7:00 p.m. and end at 10:00 p.m.  Students must arrive by 8:00 p.m. in order to be admitted to the dance.
  • All school rules are in effect during dances.
  • In order for a student to attend the dance, he/she must be in attendance on Friday September 27th by 10:00 a.m.
  • Students on social probation will not be allowed to attend.
  • The LP administration has the right not to admit any student who is not in good standing. LP administration has the right and responsibility to exclude any student or guest from attending a dance if it believes that this individual poses a safety risk or is disruptive to the educational environment.
  • All students bringing a non L-P guest to the dance must have had a completed “Guest Request Form” on file in the Security office and were due by Friday, September 20th.
