Happy birthday to Jeremy Grooms, Connor Hill, Alexandra Miller, Cheyenne Mondoni, Colton Sittler, Brett Aimone, Mario Castillo, Klint Kramer, Mrs. Rexius, Mr. Turri, Mrs. Brooker, and Mrs. Turczyn.

 

Congratulations to the intramural dodgeball championship team of Payton Piraino, Trevon Hunter, Drake Weber, Jake Wagner, Alex Lenkaitis, and Ayden Sines. They defeated the team of Evan Arbisi, Jesse Casas, Bobby Pohar, Jordan Strange, Drew Lane, and Zach Plackett. Finishing in third place was the team of Adam Kofoid, Logan Turgiliatti, Nathan Zimbelman, Luke Keating, Ethan Belski, and Michael Hammen. Start getting your whiffle ball teams ready for the next fun intramural activity.

 

Congratulations to LP’s September Student of the Month honorees. They are Michael Naas, Deja Lewis, Jasmine James, Keeton Kowalski, Deja White, Leif Duda, Oskar Flodstrom, Corbin Heller, Christine Ricci, Levi Hallock, and Lauren Phillips.

 

Attention Students: Would you like to participate onstage in the Renaissance Rally Lip-Sync battle? Please contact Ms. Henry or Mrs. Ganze if you are interested.

 

Chess club will meet in the cafeteria by the TV after school on Tuesday.

 

There will be a GSA meeting tomorrow after school in room 331. There will be cookies.

 

LEAD will be meeting on Wednesday, September 18th during your lunch period in the Alumni room.  Please contact Mrs. Witte with any questions

 

Attention seniors: Thank you to those who voted your President for the Class of 2020 --Lupe Covarrubias.

 

SENIORS LEAVE YOUR MARK:  the senior hand print wall sponsored by Senior Board will be on Wednesday, September 18th before school (7:10-7:40) or after school (1:50-2:15) in the Student Commons.  

 

Foreign Language Club will have a meeting Wednesday, September 18th at 7:20 in Room 137.

 

There will be a mandatory Junior Board meeting Wednesday at 7:20 in Mrs. Hartman’s room.  We will be finalizing details for the Variety Show.

 

Variety Show rehearsal will be Thursday, September 19th from 3-5:00 in the Sellett Gym. Please make sure all music is submitted to Mrs. Hartman before this date.

 

Students, do you need help writing an essay or resume, understanding a poem, or retaking a test? Come to English tutoring beginning this week with Ms. West in Room 156, from 3:10-4:10 on Tuesday, or with Mr. Guenther in Room 146, from 7:00-7:30 a.m. on Tuesday and Thursday. See your English teacher to arrange for materials to be ready for you. 

 

Key Club will be meeting on Tuesday morning at 7:15 AM in the Cavalier Community Room. New members are welcome. There will be treats. 

 

You can now vote for the Homecoming Court ballot.  Check your email today. Nominations end tonight.

 

Student Council will be meeting on Friday at 7:10 AM in Mr. Zukowski’s room 340.

 

There will be an FCA meeting Wednesday morning at 7:15 in Coach’s Mundt Room which is room 339.

 

There will be an open gym in the Sellett gym Tuesday 7:30 to 8:30 pm and Thursday in the East gym 3 to 4 pm. Any questions, ask Coach Miller, Guenther, or Kennedy.

 

There will be a yearbook meeting right after school on Thursday, September 19 in room 156.

Are you interested in learning how to design a webpage or make a video? Join Computer Club! We’re meeting after school Tuesday and Thursday in room 341.

 

Attention Science Club: Since last week's activity was so colorific- let's meet again on Friday, September 20th right after school in room 306!  Be ready to vote and share!  If you can't make it then please see either Mrs. Depenbrock or Mrs. Kochis!

 

Students attending L-P‘s homecoming dance on September 28th who will be bringing a non-L-P student as their guest, are required to fill out a guest request form. Guest request forms may be picked up at the greeter’s desk or in the school safety office. These forms must be returned to Mrs. Skoog in the School safety office before you purchase a ticket. We will not accept any forms after September 23rd.

 

Tickets go on sale Sept 23rd through Sept 27th during all lunch periods. Homecoming t-shirts will also be on sale during all lunch periods.

 

Attention Seniors:  if you plan to submit a portrait other than your LifeTouch photo, the photo and Photographer Release Form are due by Friday, October 11. No portraits or release forms will be accepted late. If you have questions, please see Hope Beelman or Ms. West.

 

Attention Seniors: Have you been accepted into a college, found an apprenticeship, joined the military, or committed to a future career? Stop in the Counseling Office to sign our Acceptance Wall and celebrate with us! We will have a gift card drawing for all seniors who signed the wall on December 16th.

Tuesday, September 17 – Educators of Beauty – 7th hour

Wednesday, September 18 – University of Chicago – 3rd hour.

Thursday, September 19 – Army National Guard will be here in the Commons during all lunches.

Interested students can sign up in the Counseling office to meet with any of these representatives.
