There will be a Renaissance meeting after school today in the Cavalier Community Room. We will be working on the Fall Academic Rally. New members are welcome!
Attention all Cavaliers: TOPS club will be having a meeting on Thursday, September 12th at 7:15 in the Cavalier Community Room . TOPS focuses on activities to promote positivity and prevention at LPHS and in the community. Please join us; new members are welcome.
Attention Seniors: Have you been accepted into a college, found an apprenticeship, joined the military, or committed to a future career? Stop in to the Counseling Office to sign our Acceptance Wall and celebrate with us! We will have a gift card drawing for all seniors who signed the wall on December 16th.
There will be an FCA meeting Wednesday morning in Coach Mundt’s room 339 at 7:15.
There will be an intramural dodgeball tournament on Wednesday, September 11th at 7:00 p.m. in the Sellett Gym. Sign your team of 6 people up outside the PE office. Any questions, see Coach Keating.

Anybody interested in playing chess, meet in the cafeteria by the tv after school on Tuesday. Anyone interested in playing board games or card games can meet in the cafeteria by the tv on Mondays and Fridays after school.
There are open gyms at the east gym Tuesday and Thursday from 3 to 4 pm. Any questions, ask Coach Miller or come to room 226 and ask Coach Vickery.
The first Art Club Meeting will be Thursday, September 12 in Room 224 from 2:45-3:45. Anyone with a creative spirit is encouraged to join!
Attention Seniors: if you plan to submit a portrait than your LifeTouch photo, the photo and Photographer Release Form are due by Friday, October 11. No portraits or release forms will be accepted late. If you have questions, please see Hope Beelman or Ms. West.
The Cavalier Choice Awards will be held on Friday, November 8th at 7 PM in the auditorium and would love to see our incredible students try out to be a host or talent for the show. Tryouts will be held from today, September 9th to the 13th after school in Ms. West's room, 156. If interested or would like more information, please see Ms. West or Hope Beelman. Hope to see you there!
Attention students: If you are serving a detention, they are held in room 102 in the morning and after school.
Attention juniors: All juniors have the option to sign up for the PSAT/NMSQT exam, which will enter you into the National Merit Scholarship competition. It will be held in the morning on October 16. The cost of the exam is $17.00. Due to the nature of this exam, no make-up dates or late arrivals will be allowed. Please register for the PSAT/NMSQT exam at the Bookstore no later than Wednesday, September 11, 2019.
Student Council will be meeting on Friday at 7:10 AM in Mr. Zukowski’s room 340.
Attention Science Club: there will be a meeting this Friday, September 13th right after school in room 306! Be prepared to explore science while collecting data! Hope to see you there!
The YMCA is looking for swimming instructors and lifeguards. If interested, call Carlie Arjes at 815-252-3576 or pick up an application at the front desk of the YMCA.
Variety Show Auditions will be held on Wednesday and Thursday from 3:00 – 5:00 in the Sellett Gym. Please see Mrs. Hartman in room 338 to schedule your audition.
Students attending L-P‘s homecoming dance on September 28th who will be bringing a non-L-P student as their guest, are required to fill out a guest request form. Guest request forms may be picked up at the greeter’s desk or in the school safety office. These forms must be returned to Mrs. Skoog in the School safety office before you purchase a ticket. We will not accept any forms after September 23rd.
Tickets go on sale Sept 23rd through Sept 27th during all lunch periods.
There are approximately 20 college representatives coming during this month and next month. A list is posted outside the Counseling office; it’s also on the lphs.net website. Interested students can sign up in the Counseling office to meet with any of these representatives. The first one is scheduled for September 18th.
There will be a Pumpkin Flotilla Festival held on October 19 at the Heritage Harbor in Ottawa. It is an all day event and includes activities such as 5K Zombie Fun/Run, craft fair, pet costume contest, games, food & drinks, pumpkin carving, bonfire, storyteller, and more. For more information, there are posters located on the bulletin board outside the Counseling office.
