Please join Key Club in the Cavalier Community Room at 7:25 on Tuesday morning. We have several projects we will be planning to help our school, community, and the world around us. New members are always welcome!
Foreign Language Club is holding a collection for IVAR the week of March 13-17. Any students that contribute will be eligible to win gift cards to Chipotle, Root Beer Stand, Culvers or Target. Items requested are – Purina Cat/Kitten food, Toilet paper, Soap, Bleach, Towels, Blankets. Drop off your items at the collection table by the library before school or bring to Room 137.
On Tuesday, February 28th at 2:45pm we are having an informational meeting in the Cavalier Community room for anyone interested in playing rugby.
There will be an intramural 3 on 3 basketball tournament on March 1st at 6:30 in the Sellett gym. Sign your team up outside the PE office. Any questions see Mr. Keating.
The next Art Club meeting is Thursday, March 2 after school until 3:45. We will be working on props for the musical. All are welcome to attend.
There will be a forensic science club meeting this Thursday in room 308 after school. New members are welcome.
Attention all Link Leaders - there is a meeting in the CCR tomorrow, February 28 during all lunch periods. Please make every effort to attend.
Attention current LP juniors and sophomores - Link Leader applications for the 2023 - 2024 school year are now available. Link Leader applicants must currently be LP juniors or sophomores in good standing at LPHS. Link Leader applications are available in room 122, room 338, or at the Library circulation desk. All applications are due back by Wednesday, March 22 at 3:00pm. If you have questions about Link Crew or about the application itself, please see Mr. Clydesdale in room 122 or Mrs. Hartman in room 338.
ATTENTION JUNIORS: The Illinois Science Assessment is administered annually to members of the junior class. This year, the assessment will be administered on Thursday, March 9. Juniors will be receiving an email later this week from Mr. Gibson with your assigned testing session. Please be sure to check your LPHS student email to make sure you know your testing session. You must bring your CHARGED chromebook to testing in the East Gym for your assigned session.
This is a reminder for any student not currently enrolled in a Spring sport wishing to improve his/her health through weight training has the opportunity after school on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays in the Weight Room. This is for both beginner and experienced weightlifters. If interested or any questions, please see Mr. Lauer in Room 323 or meet after school in the Weight Room today, Monday, February 27th.
Attention High Scholarship recipients that did not attend the ceremony last Thursday: please stop by the Principal’s Office and pick up your award.
Attention GSA: There will be a meeting tomorrow after school in room #331, Mr. Makeever's room. Hope to see you there!
Attention Cavaliers: It’s time to stock up on LP Fan Gear! The Sports Marketing class is selling products! There are ads throughout the school and check your email for an order form from. Contact Erik Garcia, Drake Hawthorne, Gentian Imeri, Lorenzo Rios, Aieden Wenskunas, or Marco Zamudio for more information on the products. Also, if you have any questions, please ask Mr. Graff.
Attention seniors: Make sure to check out the lphs.net scholarship page. Kathryn Hansen Scholarship is under miscellaneous scholarships for students planning to pursue higher education in the office professional, secretarial, or business-related fields. Also, the Illinois Valley Hispanic Scholarship for $500 is being offered for Hispanic students who want to further his/her education.

Attention seniors: Each year the University of Illinois, Illinois Administrative Professionals offers the Kathryn G. Hansen Scholarship competition to students planning to pursue higher education in the office professional, secretarial or business-related fields. For the 2023-2024 year, one scholarship in the amount of $500 will be awarded. The deadline is March 13. More information will be posted on the lphs.net.
Attention seniors: This is a reminder that the ISAC representative will be here on Thursday, March 2nd from 10:30 to 12:30. This is for help with the FAFSA graduation requirement and college/financial aid assistance. Sign up in the Counseling office if interested.
Trinity Catholic will be hosting the 8th grade volleyball regional, and they are looking for help on the following dates:
Saturday, March 4th 8:30am-10:30am
Tuesday, March 7th 4:00-5:30 and 5:30-7:00 (or whole time if want)
Thursday, March 9th 4:30-6:00
