Monday, November 7

 

Attention LP students and staff:   The Writing Club is hosting a Poetry Slam/Open Mic night on Monday, November 21 from 7 - 8 p.m. in Matthiessen Auditorium. Participants from LP may dramatically read/perform an original or well-known poem, perform a dramatic reading from a novel, or sing an original or well-known song. Anyone is welcome to attend in the audience. All work must be submitted to Mrs. Phillips for approval by Wednesday, November 16.  If you have questions, see your English teacher, Mrs. Phillips, or any Writing Club member. 

 

Who doesn't love chocolate? How about a chance at winning a delicious 10 pound bar of chocolate for you or someone you know? Art Club has raffle tickets on sale now. Only $1 for each chance to win. The drawing will be held the morning of December 9th. See Mrs. Jenkins or an Art Club member for your tickets before it's too late.

 

 

Art Club will meet on Thursday, November 10th after school until 4pm. All are welcome to attend. 

 

 

There will be a Renaissance meeting after school in Room 150. New members are always welcome.

 

There will be an intramural bags tournament on Wednesday November 16th at 7:00 pm in the south balcony. Sign up your team outside the PE office. Any questions,  see Mr. Keating.

 

Today is the first day of official practice for wrestling. If you are still interested in trying our sport out, just show up to the wrestling room after school. Look for Coach Rebholz.

 

Attention AP Students: AP Exam fees are due by Wednesday, November 16. Payments can be made at the Bookstore during normal bookstore hours. If you are unsure of how much you owe, please contact Mrs. Sell in the Bookstore.

 

 

Attention Freshmen & Sophomore Students: The digital PSAT will be held on Wednesday, November 9. Breakfast will be served that day. You should report to your testing room location by 7:45 AM with your charged chromebook. Please remember to charge the night before or the morning of testing. The exam will conclude at around 10:45 AM and all students will be dismissed at 10:50. Buses will run normal routes before and after school.

 

Attention Freshmen Board: There will be a meeting Thursday, November 10 at 7:30 in room 141.

 

Want to design a game in Roblox and learn more about coding? Join L-P Coders on Thursday morning at 7:15 in room 327. New members are always welcome. See Mr. Bjerkaas if you can’t make it to the meeting or have questions.

 

 

Attention seniors:  Sign up for the College 101 Next Steps as well as continued help with college and FAFSA applications.   The College 101 will be held this Thursday, November 10th during 3rd and 7th period in the Cavalier Community Room.  The ISAC ep will also be available from 10:30 to 12:30 on Thursday with help on FAFSA.   Sign up in the Counseling Office if interested.

 

Is there a teacher or staff member who you would like to recognize for going above and beyond? If so, nominate them for Renaissance’s Tireless and Staff Award. The Tireless and Staff awards are travelling trophies given to a faculty and staff member who have shown dedication and commitment to the students of LP. Nominations have been sent to your student emails and are due November 22.
