Attention seniors: Make sure you check out the available scholarships under the lphs.net website. If you graduated from Tonica Grade School, there is a $300 scholarship available.
Are you an aspiring actor or actress? Maybe you like to work with props, costumes, or sets? If this sounds interesting please plan on attending a short informational meeting in room 226 on Thursday September 22nd before school at 7:15 or 2:40 right after school. If you are unable to attend either meeting, please contact Mr. Thomas for additional information.
Please join us for a Sophomore Board meeting Thursday, September 22nd at 7:20 in Room 136. We will be discussing our fundraiser schedule for the year.
Attention Writing Club: Our next meeting will be after school on Thursday, September 22 from 2:45 - 3:30. Our guest speaker via Zoom will be Grace McCormick. New members are always welcome.
Attention LP students and staff: The Writing Club is hosting a Poetry Slam/Open Mic night on Monday, November 21 from 7 - 8 p.m. in Matthiessen Auditorium. Participants may dramatically read/perform an original or well-known poem, perform a dramatic reading from a novel, or sing an original or well-known song. All work must be submitted for approval by Wednesday, November 16. More information will be forthcoming. If you have questions, see Mrs. Phillips or any Writing Club member.
Art Club will meet on Thursday, Sept 22nd after school until 4:00pm. All are welcome to attend. We will be working on sketches for our upcoming murals.
Attention Freshmen Board. There will be a meeting Tuesday, September 20 at 7:30 in room 141. If you would like to run for President, Vice President, or Secretary, please let Mrs. Theisinger know by today. We will have vote at the meeting.
Variety Show Rehearsal will be Wednesday, September 21 from 3:00 – 5:00 pm in the Sellett Gym. All participants should plan to attend. Please bring your music with you.
Junior Board will have a meeting Tuesday, September 20 at 7:15 am in Mrs. Hartman’s room. All members should check the classroom page before attending.
The Variety Show is Monday, September 26, at 7:00 pm in the Sellett Gym. Please come and support all of our talented Cavaliers.
Attention Cavaliers, yearbook meets every Thursday right after school in Room 156. We are looking for writers, photographers, editors, artists, designers, social media managers, and marketing managers. All are welcome to join.
Interested in becoming a member of LP's first mock trial team or learning more about mock trial? Come to our informational meeting on Tuesday, September 27, at 2:45 p.m. in the Cavalier Community Room. This program can help you develop leadership and public speaking skills. You will create arguments and witness questions from a problem published by the Illinois State Bar Association. You will present your case to attorneys and judges at competitions.
There is a forensic science club meeting Thursday in room 308 after school. Remember to bring your drinks for our Forensic Movie.
Skills USA will be meeting Saturday September 24th at 10am, in room D20 of the Dolan Building. If you are interested in pushing your Trade Skills to the next level, through new learning opportunities, competitions, and workforce training, then come check us out! The Anime Club will be meeting on Saturday September 24th at 12pm, in room D20 of the Dolan Building. We will be watching anime, reading manga, wearing cosplay, and learning Japanese. It’s a mini convention every time! Contact Mr. Koesler or join our Microsoft Teams page for more information.
