LP Yearbook Accepting Senior Photos
Dear Senior Students,
Unlike the underclassmen, you have the opportunity to have a senior portrait taken by any photographer of your choice. The yearbook staff works extremely hard to keep track of all portraits throughout the course of the year, so we ask that you strictly adhere to the instructions below out of respect for the staff. Failure to do so may force the staff to remove your senior portrait from the book and replace it with your Life Touch photo. All seniors will be photographed at registration, even if they have or will be getting portraits from another photographer.
- Portraits will not be published unless a photographer’s release is submitted. The release is necessary because it honors the photographer’s publishing rights and ensures the legal sanctity of the yearbook. If your portrait is taken by a nonprofessional photographer, you must still submit the form. Click here to download the photography release form.
- The dress code must be strictly adhered to. Shirts cannot be transparent or lacy and straps must be wider than 2.5 inches. This applies to both male and female students. Anything deemed inappropriate for school will not be used in the yearbook. Review page 14 of the student handbook for clarification.
- The photo must be submitted digitally and no hard copies will be accepted. The portrait can be mailed to LaSalle- Peru Township High School attn. yearbook on a disk or emailed to email@example.com. If the portrait is submitted by email, please scan the release.
- Please submit only one portrait per student. We do not need an entire disk with options to choose from. If the staff receives a disk with multiple files, they will determine which photo will be used in the yearbook. They will base this decision off of which photo the student looks best in, dress code, and background. The staff is not responsible for returning disks or flash drives to you, as we preserve everything in both digital and physical formats.
- Photographers with multiple customers may submit multiple portraits on a single disk. However, each customer must have an individual release filled out. We are happy to send multiple copies of the release via email if needed.
- The photo must be in jpeg format and of at least 300 dpi.
The dimensions of the photo must be 2 inches by 1¾ inches.
- Portraits must have as neutral of a background as possible, and ABSOLUTELY NO PROPS OR HATS. This does not mean that the student must have a studio portrait taken, but simply that the student should be the center focus of the portrait. Portraits that do not focus on the student’s face will be cropped.
- The final deadline for submissions is Friday, October 9. No portraits will be accepted late and no exceptions to the rules will be made.
When all files are received, the yearbook staff will share a Google Sheet with all students via their student email to notify those of what we have received. An announcement will be made to let students know of the list, and it is the student’s responsibility to check and make sure that their portrait is correct. Mistakes happen; therefore, the staff advises any seniors with concerns to confirm their portraits in room 156 during fifth hour. Portraits submitted to the yearbook staff will also be used in the graduation sections of local newspapers—if you do not wish to be a part of this, please email Ms. West at firstname.lastname@example.org.
