A School Safety Update - September, 21, 2023

Dear L-P Community:

On Wednesday evening, an L-P student brought a safety concern to local police’s attention, regarding a social media post shared by another student. Due to the worrisome nature of the post, local law enforcement immediately initiated an investigation and contacted L-P administration. Police took the necessary steps to ensure there is no threat to our school.

As you may appreciate, this incident involves a local law enforcement investigation; therefore, we cannot share any additional information at this time. Law enforcement continues to work closely with L-P administration. We want to assure you that we take every precaution to ensure the safety of our students and staff members.

We thank students and families who are willing to share information regarding potential safety concerns. They are an invaluable piece of the school safety system. We also wish to thank our local law enforcement for their due diligence when these situations occur.

As a reminder to our families, L-P’s anonymous reporting tool, Safe2SpeakUp (https://www.lphs.net/safeshare), provides another way to report concerning behavior directly to the School Safety Office.

If you have any questions, please contact me at (815) 223-2373 or swrobleski@lphs.net.

Sincerely,

Dr. Steven R. Wrobleski
