Haberkorn reaches 1,000 Career Wins
With his 1,000th coaching victory tonight, LaSalle-Peru Township High School volleyball head coach Mark Haberkorn has further cemented his position as one of the greatest and most successful coaches at LPHS and in the state of Illinois.
The entire LPHS family celebrates coach Haberkorn on this monumental accomplishment.
“It’s hard to find the words to describe the impact Coach Haberkorn has had on countless student-athletes,” said LPHS Superintendent Dr. Steven Wrobleski. “To attain 1,000 victories is a testament of his dedication to excellence – year in and year out – and positively impacting the lives of young adults. On behalf of the Board of Education, staff, students, and entire L-P Cavalier family, I salute Coach Habs on this milestone achievement!”
Haberkorn’s current career record stands at 1000-279-18 over four decades of coaching, beginning at Lostant High School in 1982 and continuing at L-P since 1988 with a small break from 1991 to 1994. This places him well within the top 10 most successful coaches in Illinois high school volleyball based on IHSA records.
