LPHS Creates Hall of Honor

The LaSalle-Peru Township High School Board of Education on Wednesday, Feb. 15 approved the creation of an LPHS Hall of Honor, which will recognize LPHS alumni, educators, and supporters for exceptional achievements in academic, artistic, or athletic pursuits or other distinguished achievements.

The purpose of the Hall of Honor is to highlight the accomplishments of inductees with the intention that current students will be inspired by the standard of excellence and accomplishment achieved by their predecessors. Inductees will be chosen and recognized on an annual basis.

LPHS currently intends to honor the first Hall of Honor class in fall 2017. Those recognized in the Hall of Honor can be nominated by anyone. A 9-member selection committee, consisting of school district leaders, former coaches and educators, and volunteer community members to be named at a later date, will choose which nominees will be honored each year. Once someone has been nominated they will stay in consideration for future years. The deadline to nominate someone for recognition this year is July 1, 2017.

Anyone interested in nominating someone for the LPHS Hall of Honor should contact LPHS Director of Athletics and Activities Chris Kirkpatrick at (815) 220-2772 or visit the LPHS website at to nominate someone online.
