2023-2024 L-P High School DAR/SAR Recipients
We are excited to announce our 2023-2024 Sons and Daughters of the American Revolution citizenship awards recipients.
Sons of the American Revolution
LaSalle-Peru Township High School senior Isabelle Andrews was named the 2023-2024 Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) Citizenship Award winner. This high honor is presented to a senior based on the qualities of dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism to an outstanding degree. Andrews was chosen for this honor by her fellow seniors and by faculty. Andrews is the daughter of Mark and Jennifer Andrews of Utica.
L-P Counselor David Spudic said, “Isabelle is very deserving of this award. Academically, she is a hardworking and dedicated student. Personally, she is considerate, cheerful, and a leader. We are very proud of her accomplishments throughout our school and community.”
Andrews is involved in many athletics and activities at LPHS, including cheerleading, track, Link Crew, Harbor Homeroom, Senior Board, and the Renaissance leadership team. As for her future plans, Andrews intends to further her education, studying pre-physical therapy or kinesiology at a four-year university.
Daughters of the American Revolution
LaSalle-Peru Township High School senior Addison Duttlinger was named the 2023-2024 Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) Citizenship Award winner. This high honor is presented to a senior based on the qualities of dependability, service, leadership and patriotism to an outstanding degree. Duttlinger was chosen for this honor by her fellow seniors and by faculty. Duttlinger is the daughter of Eric and Victoria Duttlinger of Oglesby.
L-P Counselor Meg Kowalczyk said, “Addie is very deserving of this award. Whether it be in the classroom or through athletics, Addie demonstrates strong leadership skills, perseverance, service, and teamwork. She is an exemplary student and a great role model for future Cavaliers.”
Duttlinger is involved in many athletics and activities at LPHS, including basketball, softball, volleyball, Harbor Homeroom, Link Crew, Senior Board, and Student Council. As for her future plans, Duttlinger intends to further her education, studying nursing at Saint Louis University, where she will also play softball.
