    Students that were photographed by LifeTouch during registration and the make-up day will be getting picture packs and/or proofs next week during a homeroom. If you haven’t been photographed by LifeTouch, please be sure to do so on October 6th. Retakes and make-up pictures for students and staff will be Tuesday, October 6th from 7:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. on the auditorium stage. In order to be in the Yearbook you must be photographed by LifeTouch unless you are a senior that has made other arrangements with another photographer and the yearbook staff.

     

    Attention seniors:  Leave your mark.  The handprint wall will be in the student commons before and after school on Monday and Tuesday. (today and tomorrow)

     

    There will be a GSA meeting tomorrow, Tuesday, in Mr. Makeever's room after school – room 331.  All who plan to be in the homecoming parade with GSA need to be at the meeting or email Mr. Makeever.

     

    Chess and card will not meet tomorrow, September 28th; we will meet again next week.

     

    Drama Club will be meeting on Tuesday, September 28th in the Cavalier Community room from 2:50-4:00pm. Please bring your materials for the Homecoming Parade Posters. Contact Ms. K with any questions.

    There will be an intramural whiffle ball tournament on Wednesday, October 13th at 7:00 in the Sellett Gym. Sign your team up outside the PE office in Sellett Gym. Any questions, ask Mr. Keating.

     

    There will be a Renaissance meeting after school today in the Cavalier Community Room. New members are welcome!

     

    Technology club is meeting today after school in the East Gym Building, room 115. Help us as we develop a new table top game! If you’re not able to make it but would like to get involved, please contact either Mr. Wiercinski or Mr. Koesler for more information. Hope to see you there.

     

    There will be a green team meeting today, September 27th at 2:45 in room 227.  Contact Ms. Lance for more information!

     

    Homecoming dance tickets & t-shirts are on sale in the cafeteria during every lunch, this week.  Tickets are $10 per person and T-Shirts are $15.

     

    Variety Show is Monday, September 29 at 7:00 pm. Tickets are $3 for students and adults. We hope to see you all there.

     

    Variety show performers should arrive at 5:30 on Monday, September 29 for a sound check.

     

    To all students attending the Homecoming dance on Saturday, October 2nd, the following guidelines will be followed:

    • Picture ID cards are required in addition to your ticket. All L-P students must have a current L-P ID. No student or guest will be admitted without a valid picture ID card.
    • Students will remain in the dance area until they are ready to leave and will not be readmitted if they leave.
    • The dance will begin at 7:00 p.m. and end at 10:00 p.m.  Students must arrive by 8:00 p.m. in order to be admitted to the dance.
    • All school rules are in effect during dances.
    • In order for a student to attend the dance, he/she must be in attendance on Friday October 1st by 10:00 a.m.
    • Students on social probation will not be allowed to attend.
    • The LP administration has the right not to admit any student who is not in good standing. LP administration has the right and responsibility to exclude any student or guest from attending a dance if it believes that this individual poses a safety risk or is disruptive.
    • All students bringing a non L-P guest to the dance must have had a completed “Guest Request Form” on file in the Security office and were due by Friday, September 24th.

    Congratulations to the 2021 intramural dodgeball championship team of Sean Whitfield, Ethan Pohar, Chris Swayne, Luke Mertes, and Ozzy Hernandez. The team of Peyton Cumming, Raycine Jones, Mikel Lundy, Cameron Olivero, and Cordell Wheatley finished 2nd just ahead of the 3rd place team of  Bella Lambert, Sarah Peter, Erica Antle, Maddy Freeman, and Avery Urbanski. Thanks to all who participated. Start getting your whiffle ball teams ready for the next fun intramural activity.

    Attention Students: Round 1 of Superlative Nominating has been extended to this Wednesday, September 22nd. Please use the links in your email to send in your nominations.

    The Cavalier Choice Awards will be held on Friday, November 12th at 7 PM in the auditorium. To make this event possible, we need hosts and talent acts. We would love to see our incredible students try out to be a part of the show. Tryouts will be held this week, Wednesday-September 22, Thursday-September 23rd, and Friday-September 24 after school in Ms. West's room, 156. If interested or would like more information, please see Ms. West. Hope to see you there! 

     

    Come join Technology Club next Monday, September 27th, and help us create the next great table top game. Technology Club will meets in the East Gym ACC Wing in room 115.     Hello Cavaliers! Key Club will be having a meeting Tuesday Morning in the Cavalier Community Room at 7:25 AM. New members are welcome! If you want to impact your community through volunteer work, join us to go over upcoming projects and service ideas. We hope to see you there!

     

    Drama Club will be meeting on Tuesday September 21st from 2:50-4:00pm in the Auditorium. Please be on time and as always, if you are unable to attend please let Ms. K know.

     

    This Wednesday is National See You at the Pole day.  We will meet at 7:15 Wednesday morning at the flag pole outside of the English hallway and pray for our classmates, teachers, administrators, and school.  There will be doughnuts provided.  Hope to see you there.

     

    Wrestling open gyms are on Wednesdays from 5pm-6pm. All are welcome!! Coach Rebz can be found in the Sellett gym, PE office if you have any questions or may be interested in joining the wrestling team.

     

    Variety Show Rehearsals will be Thursday, September 23 at 3:00 in the Sellett Gym. All performers are required to attend.

     

    Junior Board will meet Wednesday, September 22 at 7:30 am. In room 338.

     

    Sophomore Board will meet Friday, September 24th at 7:30 in Room 136. Check Google Classroom for updates.

    There will be a mandatory Yearbook Club meeting at 2:45pm on Thursday, September 16 in room 156.  See you there!

     

    Hi Cavaliers! Our star-studded red carpet event, The Cavalier Choice Awards, hosted by the Ell Ess Pe Yearbook staff, will be on Friday, November 12th at 7 PM in the auditorium, but superlative voting starts today! The winners of the many superlatives depend on your vote! The first round consists of nominating 4 peers that you believe hold the qualities of the superlatives. Round 1 starts today and will end Friday, September 17th. Make sure to participate and submit your vote via the link found in your email from yearbook!

    Are you interested in make a table top game? If so come join Technology Club after school today, Monday September 13th, in the East Building room 115 in the ACC wing. We will be looking and play testing different table top games. Help us make the next Candy Land! If you are interested in participating but can’t make it please contact either Mr. Wiercinski or Mr. Koesler for more information.

    Attention students!- if you like nature, working on projects and labs, watching movies, and learning new things, then come to the next Science Club meeting on Friday, September 17th right after school in room 306.

     

    The Homecoming Dance is only 3 weeks away on October 2nd!  This year it will be outside at the LP Sports Complex.  Tickets are $10 per person and will be on sale during lunch in the cafeteria throughout the week before.

     

    The annual Homecoming Powderpuff (girls flag football) Game will take place on Wednesday, September 29th, after the parade at 6pm.  Ask Mr. Zukowski in room 340 to sign up!

     

    LP students:  do you have an interest or skill that is found in one of the LP or ACC CTE courses?  If so, would you like an opportunity to better that skill, or compete against others who share that same skill set?  The good news is there is a new club that is available to you called Skills USA.  This club is just getting started and is headed by Mr. Koesler in the ACC.  If you would be interested in learning more about this club, and what it offers you, contact Mr. Koesler regarding your interest and he will get information to you regarding meetings and upcoming competitions.  For your knowledge, CTE courses are any Business Course, Programming, Foods, Child Care, Nursing or any course in trades such as Woods, CAD, Electricity, Auto, Welding, Machining, Cosmetology and Fire Science.

    Attention Juniors: The PSAT/NMSQT will be held on October 13. This is an elective assessment designed to help prepare you for the SAT that will be taken in the Spring. The cost of the exam is $18. If you are interested in registering, please sign up at the LPHS Bookstore, during bookstore hours. More information will be provided two weeks prior to the exam for those who register. The deadline to register is Tuesday, September 14 at 3:00 PM. Please contact Mr. Gibson with any questions.

     

     Attention all Cavaliers:  There will be a TOPS (teens on positivity and prevention) on Thursday morning at 7:20 in the auditorium.

     

    Would you like to be this year’s Sir Ranier mascot? Or help the mascot during events? Come join our club called Sir Ranier Assemblé. If interested please meet after school on Wednesday, September 8th in the Hall of Honor section of the cafeteria or see Mr. Le or Mr. Miller sometime this week.

     

    Attention Writing Club:  Louis L'Armour once said, “Start writing, no matter what. The water does not flow until the faucet is turned on.” If you enjoy writing anything creatively, from poems to short stories, then Writing Club is for you. We'd be honored if you'd join us at the first Writing Club meeting of the year after school on Thursday, September 9 in room 147.

    Attention Freshmen Class!  Are you interested in raising money for your class to use at Prom and on Senior clothing? Are you good at fund raising? Do you enjoy volunteering? We are looking for energetic freshmen to help raise money to use as a class, and volunteer in the community. There will be an informational meeting next Wednesday, September 1, at 7:30 in room 141. Hope to see you there!

    The first Anime Club meeting is getting ready to commence! On the first Saturday of September(4th) at 3pm! We will be watching anime, reading manga, wearing cosplay, learning Japanese, and eating food. It’s a mini convention every time! Contact Mr. Koesler or join our Microsoft Teams page for more information.

     

    Are you interested in Game Design, Robotic Programing, 3D Printing or Design Challenges? If you said yes to any of these please join us for an informational meeting for Technology Club this afternoon, Monday, August 30th, at 3:00pm in room 115 in the East Gym ACC Wing. If you are not able to make it but would like information, please contact either Mr. Wiercinski or Mr. Koesler.

     

    There will be an open gym for girls on Tuesday and Thursday from 7:30-8:30  p.m. at Sellett gym.

    The Perfectly Flawed Foundation is seeking volunteers to help paint their new office space, and you can earn Cavalier Cord Hours.  All supplies are furnished.  Students must be responsible, and able to work independently.  Some painting experience is helpful, but not necessary.  Interested students could call Diane Schallhorn at 815-830-8675.

     

    Attention Sophomores: We are looking for energetic Sophomores to be leaders! Join Sophomore Board!  We are having a meeting Friday, August 27th, at 7:30am in Room 136. Bring a friend! See Mrs. Liebhart with any questions.

    There will be a Renaissance meeting after school today, August 23rd in room 101 (CCR).  The purpose of Renaissance is to empower students, educators and communities to work together encouraging and celebrating achievements of students and staff, a nationally recognized program that has proven to be a successful motivator in encouraging students to reach new academic, attendance and behavioral heights.

    Are you interested in computer coding and development or working with video game systems? What about video production, broadcasting, podcasting or graphic design? If you said yes, then you should check out the LP Computer Club! There will be meetings after school on Monday and before school on Tuesday in Mr. Bjerkaas’s classroom (Room 327). All are welcome to attend.

     

    Beginning today, August 23rd any student not currently enrolled in a fall sport wishing to improve his/her health through weight training has the opportunity after school on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays in the Weight Room.  This is for both beginning and experienced weightlifters.  If interested or any questions, please see Mr. Lauer in Room 323 or meet after school in the Weight Room today.

    Pictures for students that weren’t photographed by LifeTouch during registration and staff pictures are scheduled for today, August 16th from 7:20 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on the auditorium stage.  You may also ask your study hall, P.E., health, or driver ed teacher for a pass to have your picture taken. In order for your picture to be in the yearbook, you must be photographed by LifeTouch.  There is no charge for the yearbook photo.  To order pictures, you will receive a proof packet in a few weeks that will include ordering information. Seniors who have made arrangements with a photographer to have a picture in to the yearbook editor by the deadline date need not be photographed.

    The Perfectly Flawed Foundation is seeking volunteers to help paint their new office space and you can earn Cavalier Cord Hours.  All supplies are furnished.  Students must be responsible, and able to work independently.  Some painting experience is helpful, but not necessary.  Interested students could call Diane Schallhorn at 815-830-8675.

    Attention freshmen and transfer students:  We would like to welcome you to LP High School!  Please review your schedule carefully.  No changes will be allowed unless you have no class schedule or ‘See counselor’ indicated.  At this point, schedules may only be changed for a study hall within the first 10 school days.

     

    If you have APT during 5th hour, you will report to the weight room.  If you have Enhanced P.E. during 5th hour, please report to the East gym.  This is for today only. 

     

    All LPHS students enrolled in Cosmetology, the transportation bus will pick you up in front of the East Gym Steps.  If you are in 1st block, you will take the La Moille bus for transportation.  If you are in second block you will take the Putnam County Bus (which is provided by Johannes Bus Service), for transportation.  Please arrive promptly so you can make the bus.
