Student Support Services here with your daily mindfulness activity.  When is the last time you have done something kind for another person, just because, and not for any recognition?  Did you know that acts of kindness have been shown to increase self-esteem, empathy and compassion, and improve mood?  It can decrease blood pressure and cortisol, a hormone directly correlated with stress levels.  Kindness can increase your sense of connectivity with others, decrease loneliness, combat low mood and improve relationships.  We challenge you to do something kind for someone else today!

Student Support Services here with your daily mindfulness activity.  Today we are going to learn about the 5-4-3-2-1 Grounding Technique!   When you are feeling stressed or overwhelmed, simply look around you and identify:

5 things you can see,  4 things you can feel, 3 things you can hear, 2 things you can smell, and 1 thing you can taste.  Give this a try the next time you are feeling stressed out!

As a reminder, we will be outside the clock tower entrance with sidewalk chalk during 2nd, 3rd, and 7th hour today!  Teachers, if you can, please bring your students down to decorate the entrance with positive affirmations and bright colors.  Students and staffulty that participate will be able to pick out a pin.  Hope to see you all there!
