Board Meeting Summary:
During its Regular Board Meeting held on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 the Board of Education accomplished the following items.
1. Approved the minutes of the October 18, 2023 Regular Meeting and the October 28, 2023 Special Meeting.
2. Recognized Mrs. Tina Pienta, Administrative Assistant, for , and Mrs. Jackie Curran, Manager of Casey’s General Store in LaSalle, for

The CTE Division was spotlighted, featuring Mrs. Tiara Bedenko-Hill and Mr. Scott Lauer, along with students, Maya Escatel, Jasmine Arce, and Lexi Yepsen, discussing the latest activities in the division. They were joined by Mrs. Turczyn and students, Albert Pera, Miya Washkowiak, Evan Hoff, and Beatriz Arce, who showcased the latest projects in the Culinary program.

5. Approved monthly L-P bills, ACC bills, payroll, and financial statements.
6. Received TIF Reimbursements from Village of North Utica (TIF 1, $30,566.08, & TIF 2, $9,058.47) for a total of $39,624.55.
7. Mr. Ferrari presented the Building and Grounds Committee Report.
8. Mr. Merboth presented the Finance Committee Report.
9. Mrs. Alcorn presented the Policy Committee Report.
10. Dr. Lynch presented the Programs Committee Report.
11. Dr. Wrobleski presented the Superintendent’s Report, sharing a video and gifts thanking the Board Members for their service on Board Members Day. He and Mrs. Cushing also shared an Academic Progress focused report on the latest School Report Card data.
12. Mrs. Cushing presented the Principal’s Report, sharing information on Parent-Teacher Conferences and the Veterans Day Program.
13. Mr. Hanson presented the Athletic Director’s Report, sharing information on the conclusion of the fall season and the start of the winter sports season, the Damon West presentation, and the Hall of Honor process for this year.
14. Mr. Mentgen presented the Area Career Center Director’s report, sharing information on the ACC Students of the Month, welding students taking on a project for LKCS, the Early Childhood Program beginning to take students for the year, and the start of course selection with future students.
15. Mr. Baker presented the Director of Communication Report, sharing information on recent communication office activities and the recent L-P Foundation Harlem Wizards events.
16. Approved to place the tentative 2023 tax levy for school year 2024-2025 on public display in preparation for the truth-in-taxation hearing on December 20, 2023
17. Adopted the following District Goals:
i. By the end of the 2023-2024 school year, the chronic absenteeism rate will be reduced by 2%.
ii. By the end of the 2023-2024 school year, the 4-year graduation rate will be increased by 2%.
18. Approved inducting the Class of 2023 L-P Hall of Honor inductees as recommended by the Selection Committee
19. Approved reaffirming the Board of Education Agreements reviewed on October 28, 2023
20. Approved purchasing Daktronics Basketball Scoreboard, Shot Clocks, LED Light Strips and Video Display from Sievert Electric via the Sourcewell Purchasing Cooperative for $187,890
21. Approved awarding bid for the purchase of a new activity bus
22. Approved submitting HLS Amendment #85 – Main Academic Building for Counseling Office Repairs, Weight Room Renovation, and PE Office Renovation
23. Approved submitting FY 2024 Round 1 School Maintenance Project Grant application in support of HLS #85 – Main Academic Building, Counseling Office Repairs
24. Approved the following L-P Sports Complex Phase II change orders:

28. Approved the following resignations:
i. Ms. Lyndsey Nguyen, Assistant Girls’ Soccer Coach, effective August 23, 2023
ii. Mrs. April Eutis, Associate Principal for Student Support Services, effective June 30, 2024
29. Approved of the following appointments:
i. Mrs. Joy Plackett, Greeter’s Desk Security, effective November 16, 2023, for the 2023-2024 school year (replaces Mrs. Jill Fanti)
ii. Mr. Zach Horton, Assistant Girls’ Soccer Coach, effective the 2023-2024 school year (replaces Ms. Lyndsey Nguyen)

33. Approved the MOU with Teacher’s Union regarding Mr. John Senica’s head coach salary.
