Regular Meetings December 18, 2024, Regular Meeting Agenda and Minutes: Agenda Meeting Summary: During its Regular Board Meeting held on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, the Board of Education accomplished the following items. 1. Held a Truth-in-Taxation Public Hearing and Bina Public Hearing on the Proposed Tax Levy for School Year 2025-2026 2. Approved the minutes of the November 20, 2024, Regular Meeting and the December 12, 2024, Special Meeting. 3. Recognized state qualifying athletes: Samantha Nauman, Girls’ Swim, and coaches Rob McNally and Jennifer Heagy. Eric Poole and Roslyn Miller, Special Olympics, and coaches Mollie Taylor, Kathleen Buttke, Michael Taylor and Kyle Pytel. Recognition of Special Olympics Student Volunteer: Jasmine Arce. 4. The Science Division was spotlighted, featuring Mr. Dan Burkart, who discussed department courses and student projects, expressing gratitude for the Board and L-P Foundation's support and the educational resources. 5. An opportunity for public comment was offered. 6. Dr. James Helton & Mr. Matt Brue delivered a presentation on the IASB Executive Search process. 7. Approved monthly L-P bills, ACC bills, payroll, and financial statements. 8. Approved the Required Board and Employee Travel Expense Reimbursements 9. No correspondence was received this month. 10. Mr. Ferrari presented the Building and Grounds Committee Report. 11. Dr. Lynch presented the Programs Committee Report. 12. Mr. Merboth presented the Finance Committee Report. 13. Dr. Wrobleski and the Board of Education provided a Triple I Conference Debrief 14. Dr. Wrobleski presented the Superintendent’s Report, discussing the proposed Final 2024 Tax Levy for School Year 2025-2026, the BINA Hearing to initiate Sale of $7.5M HLS Bonds, the ISBE School Nutrition Programs Audit, and IASA’s Vision 2030. 15. Mrs. Cushing provided a Principal’s Report, sharing information on the 8th Grade Open House and registration, 1st semester final exams, an update on the Ag Curriculum Design Team meeting, the resubmission of the METT pathway endorsement to ISBE, and the implementation of the Automatic Placement mandate. 16. Mr. Hanson provided the Athletic Director’s Report, sharing information on the start of winter sports, and a recap of fall sports, Choral and Band concerts, Scholastic Bowl and Special Olympics accomplishments and club holiday activities. 17. Dr. Lange provided the ACC Director’s Report, sharing information on a visit by Lincoln Junior High School, aviation students’ visit to Naperville Test Center to test for their commercial drone license, ACC’s participation in Rotary Park Celebration of Lights, and School Maintenance Project grant application. 18. Approval of the Cheerleaders’ overnight trip to Wilmington on Saturday, December 21, 2024, to Sunday, December 22, 2024, to participate in a competition. The L-P Booster Club will fund expenses. 29.
