The LaSalle-Peru Township High School Renaissance Students of the Month were recognized during a breakfast ceremony on Wednesday.
Students recognized this month were Marissa Windsor, Clarissa Casas, Leo Maier, Cooper Jackson, Jeniah Gaitan, Luke Reinmann, Zayden O'Dell, Morgan Knowles, Dylan Kofoid, and Mariah Roberson. Students are nominated for this honor by LPHS teachers, coaches and staff. Maier also was chosen to receive a Central Bank Illinois Renaissance Student of the Month prize, a $50 gift card.
The ceremony was sponsored by the Renaissance Program and Carus.

The LaSalle-Peru Township High School Board of Education has approved the hiring of the fourteenth Superintendent in the school district’s history.
Dr. Clayton Theisinger was selected Wednesday night following a nation-wide search led by the Board of Education with support from the Illinois Association of School Boards and input from L-P faculty, staff, students, and community members. Theisinger will replace Dr. Steven Wrobleski, who has served in the office since 2011, effective July 1, 2026.

LaSalle-Peru Township High School principal Ingrid Cushing announced 34 students have been named Illinois State Scholars for the 2025-2026 school year. The full list of Illinois State Scholars from L-P is: Keean Atkins, Braylin Bond, Claire Boudreau, Sophia Chiu, Drew Depenbrock, Daniel Duncan, Marisa Eggersdorfer, KJ Gallik, Dagny Greer, Nicholas Hachenberger, Jameson Hill, Isabella Kennett, Saida Khouaja, Cade Kilmartin, Christian Konczak, Coleman Lambert, Christian Limberg, Hunter Loebach, Aniya Lumpkins, Leo Maier, Alec Mandujano, Ever McCormick, Axel Mignone, Benjamin Nicholson, Michael Niemiec, Meredith Politsch, Cameron Rankin, Johnathan Ricci, Elizabeth Sawdey, Ian Shevlin, Lydia Steinbach, Manuel Tejada, Taylor Vescogni, and Bolander Weitl.
