LaSalle-Peru Township High School’s 2026 Prom King Joseph Gallicchio and Queen Marissa Windsor were crowned at the conclusion of promenade Saturday night in Matthiessen Memorial Auditorium. The complete Prom Court included Yoselin Carlos, Gabriella Bulak, Gracie Politsch, Nicholas Hachenberger,  Braylin Bond, and Jameson Hill.

2025-2026 FFA students and sponsor Riley Hintzsche pose on risers in the auditorium.

In its first year, the L-P agriculture program was named among the top 40 in the state.
L-P ag instructor Riley Hintzsche explained that each year the roughly 400 ag programs and FFA chapters in Illinois are asked to implement the mission and strategies of the National FFA Organization through the divisions of the National Chapter Award by growing leaders, building communities, and strengthening agriculture. To be named among the best ag programs in Illinois, ag programs are expected to complete 15 different activities with one from each of the five quality standards represented by the National FFA Organization.

The LaSalle-Peru Township High School Renaissance Students of the Month were recognized during a breakfast ceremony on Wednesday.
Students recognized this month were Clara Vaske, Sofija Dimitrijevich, David Palmer, Alex Monjaras-Aguirre, Radia Thompson, Endrew Sell, Lilah Hauter, Clayton Herz, Addison Dziarnowski, Astrid Blanco, and Madelaine Johns. Students are nominated for this honor by LPHS teachers, coaches and staff. Dziarnowski also was chosen to receive a Central Bank Illinois Renaissance Student of the Month prize, a $50 gift card.
The ceremony was sponsored by the Renaissance Program and the LaSalle and Illinois Valley Sunrise Rotary Clubs.

The 2026 Cultural Interpretation Contest will be held at LaSalle-Peru Township High School in Matthiessen Memorial Auditorium on Saturday, May 2, 2026.

Doors to Matthiessen Memorial Auditorium will open at 8:45 a.m., giving guests the opportunity to view student artwork displayed in the foyer before performances begin. From 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., audience members can enjoy poetry recitations, dance performances, instrumental music, and vocal performances presented by talented students from the region.
