Driver's Education

  • The LaSalle-Peru Township High School Driver Education department offers students a comprehensive, self-integrated, three-phase program that covers one semester period of time. The three phases consist of classroom, simulation, and behind-the-wheel instruction; all three phases exceed requirements established by the State of Illinois.

    The LaSalle-Peru Township High School Driver Education department offers students a comprehensive, self-integrated, three-phase program that covers one semester period of time. The three phases consist of classroom, simulation, and behind-the-wheel instruction; all three phases exceed requirements established by the State of Illinois.


    Graduation Requirement: This course will not be a graduation requirement beginning with the Class of 2021.


    Fees: A $125.00 technology fee for driver education is assessed to all students enrolled in driver education. This fee is generally collected when the students enroll for classes at the beginning of the fall semester. A $20.00 instruction permit fee is charged by the Illinois Secretary of State. This fee will be due with the permit application that will be completed the first week of class.
