Howard Fellows Stadium Field of Dreams Turf Restoration
Since the complete renovation of LPHS's Howard Fellows Stadium in the mid-1990s, the crown of the field has dissipated from an industry standard 22” down to 15”. This is coupled with the added usage from the LP football program, LP Youth Football Program and LPHS Marching Band. Over the past several years, the field is typically in very poor condition early in the fall athletic season. This impacts the school’s access onto the field in addition to frequent rescheduling of LP Youth Football games. Since the field is consistently being prepped during the week in the fall, PE classes are essentially prohibited from gaining access for curricular programming. This holds true in the spring since the field is “healing” from the wear and tear of the fall.
