LPHS Announcements

    We will have a voter registration event at the LPHS cafeteria on Tuesday, December 12th from 11:25-12:50.

    To be eligible to vote, students can be 17 years old IF they turn 18 on or before March 19th (primary election) or on or before November 5th (regular election).  They will also need to show TWO forms of identification ONE of which includes their address.  These can be, but are not limited to, driver's license, social security card, student ID, credit card and library card. After students register, they will receive a green receipt until they get their voter card in the mail.

     

    If you register to vote at LP  this Tuesday, December 12th you can get a Slice of Democracy. Simply wear your sticker, that you get when you register and come to the CCR to receive a slice of pizza from the Social Science division. If you have any questions, ask a Social Science teacher.

     

    Attention Writing Club:  Mrs. Phillips has the Santa letters so stop by to respond to at least one or two any day this week before school after 7:20 or any day after school except Wednesday. 

     

    A representative from the U.S. Navy will be here during all lunch periods this Wednesday, December 13th in the Commons.  Stop at the back table if interested.

     

    The American Red Cross is offering a Lifeguard training at the YMCA.  The training dates are December 26 – 29th.  For more information, go to their website at ivymca.org. or contact Doug Miller by email at dougm@ivymca.org.

     

    Attention all students: changes to second semester schedules have begun.  Please see your counselor if you are interested in making a change before winter break.

     

    For any student looking to continue on their fitness journey, come join us after school! Mr. Spudic will be in the weightroom and Ms. Gibson will be in the cardio room. Come down right after school on Mondays, Tuesdays, & Thursdays. It does not matter if you are brand new with no experience or have been working out for years or whatever your fitness goals may be. We look forward to seeing you!

     

    The next Interact Club meeting will be Tuesday, December 12th at 7:15am in Rm 224.  Dr. Wrobleski will be joining us for this meeting. We will be discussing upcoming Celebrations of Lights and Santa's Workshop activities. 

     

    The next Art Club meeting is Thursday, December 14th after school until 4pm in room 225. We will be working on preparations for Santa's Workshop on Saturday, December 16th. 

     

    Calling all Freshman: The Link Leaders would like to invite you to Cocoa and Cram on Wednesday, 12/13 from 1:46 to 2:40 in the Cavalier Community Room. Link Leaders will provide tutoring for final exams. Cookies & cocoa will also be served. We hope to see all of you there.

     

    Do you enjoy challenging problems in Math, English, or the Sciences? Attend an informational meeting for the ACES Team this Tuesday at 7:15 in room 327. If you can’t make the meeting, see Mr. Bjerkaas for more information.

     

    Special Olympics & LEAD will be participating in a Unified Dance competition in January. Any student who is interested in helping out, please see Mr. Pytel.

     

    On Thursday, December 14th a lost and found table will be set up outside the cafeteria during all lunch hours.  We have lots of items like water bottles, coats, sweatshirts, lunch boxes, glasses, and much more.  Please stop by the table to see if any of the items are yours.  Remember, lost and found is located in the bookstore, so if you find something, please turn it in or if you lost something, stop by to see if we have it.

     

    Attention Science Club:   our next meeting will be on Tuesday, December 12th right after school in room 306.  Come join the Holiday Cheer and festivities!  New members are always welcome!

     

    Girls soccer workouts will be after school Monday -Thursday.

     

    This week is Winter Spirit week!  The dress-up days are:

    Monday – Red & Green

    Tuesday – Festive Hats

    Wednesday – Holiday Character

    Thursday – Ugly Sweaters

    Friday – Santa’s Workshop

    And Friday morning before school, the Grinch will be serving free hot cocoa & candy canes in the cafeteria!
