    There will be a Green Team meeting today, Monday, October 25th in room 227 at 2:45.  Contact Ms. Lance if there are any questions.

     

    There will be a GSA meeting tomorrow after school in Mr. Makeever's room, room #331. Once again: GSA meeting; tomorrow; after school; room #331.

     

    Are you interested in computer coding and development or working with video game systems? What about video production, broadcasting, podcasting or graphic design? If you said yes, then you should check out the LP Computer Club! There will be meetings after school on Monday and Tuesday this week in Mr. Bjerkaas’s classroom (Room 327). All are welcome to attend. If you can’t make the meeting, see either Mr. Baker or Mr. Bjerkaas for more information.

     

    There will be a brief meeting for all girls going out for basketball Tuesday at 7:30 a.m. at the Cavalier community room. Don't be late.

     

    Drama Club will be meeting on Tuesday from 2:50 to 4pm in the Cavalier Community Room. Please let Ms. K know if you have any questions.

     

    Anyone interested in Foreign Language Club, please come to Room 137 at 7:20 this Tuesday, October 26th  for a meeting.

     

    Attention seniors:

    The FAFSA is a graduation requirement from LP High School as well as an important step in your post-grad process.  

    On Tuesday, November 2, Lexi Quesse of ISAC (who is highly trained in the FAFSA) will be here to help students create their FSA IDs and to get started on their FAFSAs during 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5A, 5B, or 5C.  Please sign up in the LP counseling office or contact Mrs. Wilson, administrative assistant to counseling (cwilson1@lphs.net), for the period that works for you.  Students will be required to bring with them their chromebook and social security number.

     

    Attention seniors:  There were some recent scholarships posted on the lphs.net website including the Illinois Chemical Education Foundation Scholarship CBAI Foundation for Community Banking,and the Future of STEM Scholars Initiative.   These are all under miscellaneous scholarships.

    Interested students can sign up in the Counseling Office to meet with any of these representatives.

    Congratulations to the 2021 intramural whiffle ball championship team of Luke Mertes, Traeger Abens, Chris Swayne, Ethan Pohar, Sean Whitfield, and Tyler Wrobleski. In a thrilling 3rd place game the team of Mason Videgar, John Crane, Peyton Cumming, Devin Zborowski, and Ryder Delphi narrowly defeated the team of Isabella Lambert, Sarah Peters, Maddy Freeman, Sami Funk, Erica Antle, Kali Romognoli, and Sara Wright. Get your bags partner and be ready for the next fun intramural activity!!

    Hello Cavaliers! Key Club will have meetings every Tuesday Morning in the Cavalier Community Room at 7:25 AM. New members are welcome! If you want to impact your community through volunteer work, join us to go over upcoming projects and service ideas. We hope to see you there! 

     

    This month, Key Club is participating in Trick or Treat for UNICEF. UNICEF is a non-profit organization that provides for children in need. Together we can help save children's lives around the world by providing access to clean water! Come be a part of the change and donate! Key Club will have a table set up during lunch periods on Tuesday thru Thursday through October!**

     

    There will be a TOPS meeting on Tuesday, October 19th at 7:20am in room 135.

     

    There will be a Link Leader meeting for all Link Leaders on Thursday of this week, October 21, in the CCR.  One meeting will begin at 7:20 and go until 7:35 and a second meeting will be held from 2:45 until 3:00pm.  Please choose whichever meeting is most convenient for you.  

     

    If you are experiencing grief and would like an opportunity to explore and work through this emotion with a small group of students feeling similar, LP counselors will be offering a 6-week Grief Group. If interested in participating, please contact Mrs. Eichelkraut or Mrs. Carney by tomorrow.

     

    Skills USA will be meeting Saturday, October 23rd at 1pm, in room D20 of the Dolan Building. If you are interested in pushing your Trade Skills to the next level, through new learning opportunities, competitions, and workforce training, then come check us out!     The Anime Club will be meeting on Saturday October 23rd at 3pm, in room D20 of the Dolan Building. We will be watching anime, reading manga, wearing cosplay, and learning Japanese.     There will be a yearbook meeting Tuesday, October 19 right after school in the Yearbook Room (156). We will be discussing fundraising, Cav Choice, and photo assignments. 

     

    Round 2 of Superlative Voting is finally here. Students, please check your emails, and VOTE, VOTE, VOTE!

     

    The annual Cavalier Choice Awards will be held on November 12th in Matthiessen Auditorium. Get dressed up and bring your friends and family to this star-studded red-carpet event. Superlative winners will be named, and our very own Cavalier talent will be showcased. Admission is $3 and a portion of the admission money will be donated to the local homeless shelter.
