The 2020-2021 school calendar will be revised to provide staff with additional training on the new curriculum being used for this year and will incorporate remote planning days for flexibility due to the uncertainty we may experience this year. Listed below is the new start of school & first week.

August 18: 1st Day of School (All Freshman Only – Red & Green groups)

Students are assigned an attendance group based on their last name. Students will be in remote learning when they are not at LPHS for in-person learning. LPHS will follow this schedule for the first quarter of the fall semester.
Red Days – In-person learning for students with the last names A through Limberg.

Cavs Days – Remote learning day – Teacher & students will follow this schedule via Zoom or Google Meets.
Families with children assigned to different days may call the Principal’s Office to schedule your students on the same day.
Students in our GOALS, Life-Skills, Transitions, OASIS, & PRIDE programs will attend in-person Monday – Thursday and remote on Friday.

Athletics & Activities
A message from July 1, 2020
Dear LPHS Families,
On behalf of the Athletics & Activities Department, I hope everyone is safe and doing well. The school closure and cancellation of sports last spring due to the COVID-19 pandemic was an incredibly challenging and unfortunate experience for our students, families, teachers, coaches, and members of the LPHS community. While many questions remain unanswered as we approach the 2020-2021 school year, the purpose of this letter is to provide as much of an update as possible regarding LPHS athletics and activities.
Any summer workouts being conducted at this time are limited to strength and conditioning exercises while maintaining safety measures, such as health screenings, small groups of no more than 10 people, and social distancing, in accordance with the IHSA and IDPH’s approved Stage 1 Return-to-Play guidelines. All IHSA-member schools are currently awaiting IDPH’s approval of the Stage 2 Return-to-Play guidelines, which would potentially increase the number of people permitted in one space for a gathering and permit activities specific to each sport or activity, including marching band. After the guidelines are reviewed and approved locally, schedules will be shared for sports and activities that will be gathering under the Stage 2 parameters.
Below are some other items to note, specifically for fall sports.
• Pending approval of Stage 2 guidelines, teams will be allowed to conduct workouts the week of Monday, August 3rd, which had typically been no-contact week in past years.
• All students will be required to have a current physical in order to participate in athletics when the season begins.
• Pending approval to resume athletics, the first day of practice for fall sports is Monday, August 10th.
