Mathematics

  • Six credits in mathematics are required for graduation from LP High School. Two credits MUST be an Algebra course and two credits must include Geometry content. It is strongly recommended that students complete the core math experience of Algebra 1, Geometry, and Algebra 2 – regardless of post-high school plans. These three courses are the essential keys to a strong foundation in mathematics. Students are also strongly encouraged to complete a fourth year of mathematics focusing on an area(s) of interest or post-high school plans.

The LPHS Math Division has adopted and aligned curriculum to the Common Core State Standards. For more information on the standards, please see the Common Core website.
