Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Emily Carney
Within my first 4 years of college, I attended the University of Hawaii at Manoa on a full-tuition cheerleading scholarship, Illinois Valley Community College (Associate in Arts), and Eastern Illinois University, where I received my B.S. in Psychology. I then attended Thomas M. Cooley Law School for 1 semester, at which time my passion for helping people in school counseling became more evident. As a result, I transferred to Eastern Illinois University once again, where I received my M.S. in School Counseling.
The following year, I obtained a position at Washington High School (Washington, IL), where I served as a school counselor for 3 years, a Counseling Division Chair for 1 year, and a girls’ track coach for 2 years.
In 2012, I made my move home to LP and am currently serving once again as a school counselor and Division Chair of Student Support Services. My husband is a social science teacher and football coach at LP, as well, and we could not be prouder Cavaliers.
