    Happy birthday to Justin James, Alexander Perez, Kelsey Rivara, and Grace Sparling.

     

    Congratulations to all of the athletes and partners on their accomplishments in this past Saturday’s bocce tournament here at LP. Annika Draper , Jessica Kurkowski , Julie Leach and TJ Stangland will be advancing to the State competition in Bloomington this June. GO CAVS! “

     

    There will be an art club meeting in room 213 from 2:45-3:45 on Thursday, April 27.

     

    Attention AP Students: An AP Exam pre-administration session will be held on Wednesday, April 26 at 1:50 in the auditorium. The session should take approximately 30 minutes to complete. You will need to make arrangements for your own transportation home. Please bring a #2 pencil. If you are unable to attend this session, then you will need to attend on Friday, April 28 before school beginning at 7:00AM. Please see Mrs. Cushing with questions.

     

    Seniors being honored during the Senior Awards Night Wednesday, April 26, will have a rehearsal in the auditorium today during the last half of 7th hour. You will be dismissed from your 7th hour class at 2:10 and are to proceed directly to the auditorium. Also, please let Mrs. Nelson or her secretary, Mrs. Franklin, know if you cannot attend the Senior Award Program.

     

    Thursday May 4th the County Clerk’s Office will be here during all lunch hours to register voters. You will need 2 forms of ID, & one that has your address on it in order to register.

     

    There will be an intramural whiffle ball tournament on Wednesday, May 3rd at 6:30 in the Sellett gym. Sign up your team of up to 7 people outside Coach Keating’s room 308.

     

    Attention Cavaliers! Is your hair 8 inches or longer? If so, you are eligible to donate to the Children With Hair Loss Foundation at this years hair drive on April 26th. They are a nonprofit group that donates wigs to children that have been affected by a disease or event that has prevented them from growing hair. If you are interested in participating in this amazing event, stop by the greeter’s desk for additional information or sign up for a time slot. If you are not able to donate hair but would still like to contribute, TOPs will be collecting money in the cafeteria the week of the drive, starting on Monday, April 24th. If you have any more questions please see a TOPs member or Mrs. Ganze.

    Happy birthday to Alexis Glupczynski, Noah Hancock, Skyler Hash, Adam Kofoid, Molly Saylor, Hunter Thurman, Kevin Bourey, Connor Cofoid, Brittany Dawson, and Grace Filipiak.

     

    Rachel Hickey and Brendon Sebastian both broke the school record in the 800 meter run on Saturday night in Palatine.  Rachel ran a 2:13.69 (2nd fastest time in the state by less than a second) and Brendon with a 1:56.53.  The previous LP 800 m boys record was held by Connor Hickey, Rachel’s brother, and Rachel beat her own record.  Way to go!

     

    Congratulations to Thursday’s winners of perfect attendance donuts:  Mr. Glupczynski’s and Mrs. Payton’s 1st hour World History and Ms. Wilkins’s 2nd hour AAP.

     

    Attention Renaissance members: There will be a short Renaissance meeting after school today in room 324.

     

    There will be an art club meeting in room 213 from 2:45-3:45 on Thursday, April 27.

     

    There will be a short informational meeting for all girls going out for basketball 7:30 a.m. in room 212 Tuesday. Any questions ask Coach Studziinski.

    Hey Cavaliers! Do you have blood? Good, we need it! Come out to help the local Heartland Bank Blood Center by donating blood at this Friday’s Blood Drive. Sign-ups are available at the front table in the New Cafeteria. With your donation, you will also get a $5 Subway gift card. Don’t forget that those who donate blood six times during their four years will receive a Red Honor Cord to wear at graduation. Also, remember to eat iron-rich foods and make healthy food choices before donating. Come sign up to donate blood!

     

    Key Club and FCCLA will be meeting together at 7:15 AM on Tuesday morning in the Cavalier Community Room to plan for the blood drive on Friday.

    To celebrate Earth Day this year, the LP Green Team conducted a campus wide cleanup. They will also be planting trees at the Dolan Building to honor the 25th anniversary of the Green Team. The club was founded in 1992 as a way to recycle paper and cans.  As Margaret Mead said, “Never doubt that a small group of committed citizens can change the world; indeed it’s the only thing that ever has”.

    Volunteers are needed for the LP Rummage Sale during the week of April 24-29.  Any interested student should see Mrs. Kowalczyk in the Counseling office or Mrs. Ganze in Security.  This is a great way for students to earn Cav Cord hours!

     

    The LP Rummage Sale and Bake Sale will take place on Saturday, April 29 from 8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. in the Sellett Gym.  Most items are priced at $1.00!  Hope to see you there.

     

    Junior students who were absent for the SAT will need to report to the CCR tomorrow at 7:45AM for the make-up testing session.  Please bring a couple of #2 pencils and your calculator.  You must leave all cell phones and other electronic devices in your locker.  Please see Mrs. Cushing if you have questions.
